Creation
In the beginning, God.....
Genesis is the "seed-bed" of all the important Bible doctrines. Its message is for all people of all time periods, Genesis provides the foundation for understanding the remainder of the bible.
The word “Genesis” means “beginnings”. What are some of these “beginnings”? God, His angels, Satan, sin, sickness, human life, the family, worship, death, languages, nations, and Israel – the chosen nations.

Gen 1:1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
Psalms 90:2
2 Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. NKJV

The Bible starts w/ 4 very profound words. There are no opening arguments for the existence of God-it is assumed He exists. God is just there. God has been there all along. God existed before plants, animals and people, before the Earth and the Universe. He had no beginning and He will have no end. God has always been and will always be. The Bible says that God has existed from everlasting past to everlasting future. God is eternal.
If you travel at the speed of light you can:
a) Circle the earth seven times in 1 second
b) heading out into space you can pass the moon in 2 seconds
c) the planet mars in 4 minutes
d) Pluto in 5 hours – from there you are off into our galaxy – the Milky Way
e) reach the closest star in 4.3 years
f) The Milky Way Galaxy. The band of stars you see in the night sky is part of a gigantic family of stars called the Milky Way Galaxy. At the speed of light it you will take 100,000 years to cross it from one side to the other.
g) There are an estimated 100 billion galaxies in the Universe, many comprising billions of stars. Galaxies come in cluster and super-clusters. There are about 20 galaxies in our cluster and thousands of galaxies in our super-cluster.
h) At light speed you will reach the next closest galaxy in 2,000,000 years
i) And the next closest cluster of galaxies in 20,000,000 years.
At this point you have only begun to travel the Universe
The thought of an eternal God is difficult to grasp, but so is the vastness of our Universe. They are mind boggling, yet they both are real. God’s eternal existence is such an inherent part of His nature and the Bible refers to it as His name….

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

The Earth is the reason for the Heavens. The Earth is so small in comparison to the vast number and sites of the heavenly bodies, that the study of it would be utterly absurd , if it were not for the fact that it is the only planet known to be inhabited by human life. Science does not deny that there is not a planet, sun, moon, star in all this vast universe which does not have its influence upon the Earth..
Sun is 93 Million miles away, yet it causes climatic conditions of heat, light, rain and winds , which makes this planet capable of sustaining human, animal & plant life.
The little Earth ball, with its precious freight of human beings, flies softly around the sun amply protected in its transparent case of atmosphere. Tides of the oceans are influenced by the heavenly bodies. Heat & cold, drought & storms, are the direct result of planetary influences. Storms can be predicted for certain localities on this continent by the position and influence of certain planets. Frost & heat waves are predicted months ahead by the use & knowledge of planetary positions. From these deductions, we see clearly that the planets are placed in the heavens to give us seasons, to be signs and to be continual companions and servants, always ministering to the Earth. The heavens are the earth’s only perfect timepiece. No watch or clock man has ever made can give us perfect time, but He who knows the path of the stars, knows that every star, sun or planet will pass a certain given point in the great unpathed space on schedule time.Oh the wonder of the Architect, the marvel of the Creator, the might of the Sustainer of this great universe. How thrilling it is that this earth of ours, so small that 1 thousand of them could be lost in the sun, is the center and reason for the universe. The reason for the earth is man!Gen 1 gives the account for creation. Creation consists of a series of acts by God. These creative acts culminate in the creation of man. When man was created, God’s creative activity came to a rest.Man was the goal of the whole creative movement. The biblical account of creation places man at the summit of creation. He was the last and the highest of God’s works!God had endowed man with the capacities to enjoy the beauty of His workmanship, and to utilize its resources.

6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.
10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seedis in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree thatyields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;
15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.
7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.
16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, eachaccording to its kind”; and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it wasgood.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in Hisown image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it wasvery good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it wasgood.
